Subject: OMAC News 081125
Hello
All.
This is the first
attempt at distribution of Club news via Email. It will test the validity of the
email addresses that are on record and also communicate some club news.
Here is what you will read about:
1) Email will be the
primary mode of communications
2) New Web
Site
3) Request for
Information.
4) Christmas Party
1 ) Email will be
the primary mode of communications:
As information
becomes available I will send notice via email. If you have not registered
an email address with the Club you will not be able get this type of
communications. ( and you are not reading this to learn about it
either!) For those who do not have access to email, the information
will be posted on the web site: http://www.flyomac.org. When talking to other
members, who may not have registered their email address, please communicate
that an email address would provide advantage and help improve the club
communication process. Request that they submit their email address via the web
email form that can be accessed at http://www.flyomac.org/contact.html . Alternatively they can "snail mail" their email address to Jay Staiger,
131 W. Seneca St.., Manlius, NY 13104 or ask another member that has email
access to forward it to me.
2) New Web
Site:
An OMAC web
site is now online. I purchased two domain names for the Club: http://www.flyomac.org and http://www.flyomac.net. The site can be
reached using either one. I have tried to purchase flyomac.com but it was not
available. Take a look and bookmark in you web browser favorites and check on it
frequently.
There is an events
calendar that I will attempt to keep up to date with both club related events
and hobby related events. Please send all events you would like posted on the web
site to me at webmaster@flyomac.org or use the
email form on the web site: http://www.flyomac.org/contact.html
The website domain
name that is posted on the sign at the flying field is incorrect and will need
to be changed. This is an item that should be addressed before opening the
field next spring.
3) Request for
information:
It will be obvious that the website is still under
construction and as time permits and information becomes available it will be
further developed. I am also looking to add more content to the web site.
So I am soliciting all suggestions, constructive criticisms and
corrections. These inputs are welcome and appreciated. Just Email me
with the information.
4) Christmas Party
Don't forget: 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 6, 2008 at
Trapper's Pizza Pub, 5950 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, NY
13057..
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
