I hope winter isn't too depressing for you. From my prospective spring can't come too soon.

1) Important Notice and Reminder
The Club Treasure has asked me to to send this important message.

Only 7 Members have paid there membership dues to date for the year 2009. Thanks to the members who have already paid. For all those who have not yet paid, please send dues by February 28 to avoid extra cost. Send to:

The following is an excerpt from the Member Handbook. Please take note:

Dues for members must be paid in full on or before January 31st. There will be an assessment of $5.00 on dues paid after January 31st. If dues are not paid by February 28th, you are automatically expelled from the club, and removed from the rolls. After this point, rejoining the club would require payment of both membership dues and initiation fee. There are provisions for leave of absence. Please refer to the Bylaws to see if can qualify. To remain on the rolls, any non-paying members must state their request in writing to the treasurer by February 28th. New members pay an initiation fee. This includes previous members. Please refer to the Bylaws to see what category you fall into.

Current dues schedule:
January 1st through December 31st:
- Initiation Fee: $25.00
- Membership Dues: $50.00
- Junior Membership Dues: $00.00/$50.00*
- Senior Membership Dues: $35.00

July 1st through December 31st:
- Initiation Fee: $25.00
- Membership Dues:$25.00
- Junior Membership Dues: $00.00/$25.00*
- Senior Membership Dues: $17.50

2) WEB site update

I have added some new information to the Club Information Web page: http://www.flyomac.org/club_info.html.

3) Suggestions are always welcome

It will be STILL obvious that the website is still under construction and as time permits and information becomes available it will be further developed. I am also looking to add more content to the web site. So I am continuing to solicit suggestions, constructive criticisms and corrections. These inputs are welcome and appreciated. Just Email me with the information.

4) Email is Primary Form for Club Communications

As information becomes available I will send notice via email. If you have not registered an email address with the Club you will not be able get this type of communications. ( and you are not reading this to learn about it either!) For those who do not have access to email, the information will be posted on the web site: http://www.flyomac.org. When talking to other members, who may not have registered their email address, please communicate that an email address would provide advantage and help improve the club communication process. Request that they submit their email address via the web email form that can be accessed at http://www.flyomac.org/contact.html . Alternatively they can "snail mail" their email address to Jay Staiger, 131 W. Seneca St.., Manlius, NY 13104 or ask another member that has email access to forward it to me.

5) STARS Auction at Walt's

I went to the Stars auction at Walt's Hobby on Friday, Jan 16. There were three OMAC members there... This was the first Stars auction that I attended and really didn't know what to expect. I wasn't prepared to buy but I should have been. The other two OMAC guys bought a few thing but I didn't.. One even sold a few things. I saw three items I could really have used. I could kick myself for not buying that Ultimate BiPe 120.. Reason kicked in when I thought of the wrath I would have had to endure if a came home with another airplane. I could tell the other guys were not concerned about what their wives thought :-)

6) Web Site Events Calendar

7) News Letters are Posted on the WEB Site

This is only the second news letter I have published to club members.. They are email to all members that have email address on record and will also be published to the web site.

PS - Another Reminder - The next "special day" is Valentines Day -- Don't forget that you can benefit from those special "Wifely" considerations!!!! Treat her special and you may be able to buy yourself something you really need.. Like an Ultimate BiPe 120.
